Wadume's Arrest: Police Proactive Abilities; The Question Ahead

By Ajogwu Jerry The recent rearrest of a popular kidnap kingpin in Kano State by the Nigerian Police is another twist behind the ugly happening which occurred in Taraba State amidst the unnecessary indictment of the Nigerian Army by the police over the demise of its personnel who died in the course of duty. The event is unfortunate however the unprofessional approach adopted by the Nigeria Police calls for prompt investigation, questioning and redress. It is a statement of fact that investigations concerning the incidence is ongoing and without proper coordination, the Nigeria Police rearrested the suspect, interviewed him (according to the security agent) and made his confessional statements public.  This approach negates the procedural attainment of professionalism expected from a supposedly glorified security agent. The arrest of Wadume can be made public but the alleged confessional statement obtained from the culprit is a sensitive issue that should not be mad

Arrest of Hamisu Wadume: Why Not Wait For Investigation of Presidential Panel

By Adeyemi Hamzat Following the arrest of millionaire kidnapping  kingpin and his video broadcast which was released by the police, certain pertinent questions have become necessary. It is no secret that an all encompassing Presidential Investigation Committee set up by the Defence Headquarters is currently investigating the allegations of his escape. Why has the Police decided to come out with statement directly accusing the Army before the presidential panel which is almost concluding investigation rounds up. What is the rush in preempting the panel's report. And in the statement from the NPF why was little or no mentioned about the major issue, that is the crime of kidnapping which is supposed to be the focus of Alhaji Hamisu Wadume's arrest. Both the Nigerian Police Force and the Nigerian Army are federal institutions with constitutional mandates of ensuring peace, security and fighting criminality in all forms. This writer observed that aside the initial press

DISLODGING INCUMBENCY IS A POLITICAL CULTURE IN KOGI STATE, POLITICAL PARTIES HAVE BEEN MEANS AND NOT DETERMINATES

By YUSUF OPALUWA MONDAY Read & read attentively the most energetic  weapon in the hand of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed, the oppressors through power excessiveness condition your mind to believed that your liberty is subjected to their decision, that their control over you is infinite and its end is determined by their personal choice alone,  But this is the false believed  that made cattle inferior and continuous salves  to a single herder, just imagine how uncontrollably difficult it will be for those thousands of cows controlled by a single herder decide to go separate ways at a time. The result is a pictorial  evidence of what your oppressors will experience if we seize to believe in the superiority of the power & resources at their disposal over our collective interest, which is clamour for liberation and restoration of all equal opportunity giving state where our right & value as a citizens will be solidly secure and returned to normalcy, recall t

AFRICAN MARRIAGE AND PARENT'S CHOICE — By Ajogwu Jerry Ochada

Dear African parents! Allow your children to marry whoever they wish to settle down with irrespective of religion or past history.  Love is a thin line and a choice of the love birds.  My emphasis is on African parents because it is cultural for them to make findings about who their kids wishes to marry but in the western world marriages is the decision of the couples (the guy and the babe).  The Whites rarely make findings about family history of the bride or the groom; in Europe, it is a common practice to attend wedding parties in honour of friends and colleagues with little or no reference to their past lives. You can't dare it in Africa! In Africa, it is a different ball, any attempt to date a thief, ritualist, a serial womanizer or a 'slay Queen' will be unraveled without much consultations or investigation. You will hear stories like: "The guy is a chain smoker and drinks too much beer. He's not responsible". "Th
