Kogi Guber: Beyond Igala Agenda; A Case For Yahaya Bello

By Ajogwu Jerry (Black Lion) At the eve of any election in Nigeria, many politicians storm the terrain to declare their ambitions but in the aftermath they go back to their comfort zones to wine and dine in anticipation of victories for an election meant for men not for boys. These class of politicians are friends and routine patronizers of  election tribunals often embraced when the weakling traces of their wishful thinking refuses to manifest. Glancing through the pages of history, daydreamers are renowned losers who keep repeating same mistakes yet expecting different miraculous results and at the long run, such ignoramus are quick to apportion blames to the umpires for conducting a shady process, meanwhile they lack the capabilities to participate in either a transparent or foul electoral process. These class of politicians are also nowhere to be found in the intermediate section of politics occupied by men and women of timbre and calibre who may lack the wherewithal to sponsor the

JUST IN: Gov Ganduje, Emir Sanusi embrace peace

There is strong indication that raging crisis between the governor of Kano State Abdullahi Ganduje and the Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has come to an end, following an armistice reached on Friday night in Abuja. Earlier on Friday, DAILY NIGERIAN reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had mediated in matter, following calls for his intervention and that of Northern elders as the estrangement between the governor and the emir raised tension in the state. The president’s intervention comes a day to the expiration of a query issued to the emir by the state government, seeking answer on alleged misappropriation of the emirate’s finances. At the peace meeting held Friday night in Abuja, the governor and the emir have agreed to sheath the sword for the interest of Kano as well as to de-escalate tension and prevent break down of law and order. Kogi Guber: Prevailing Shenanigans of Igala Agenda

Ajogwu Jerry Ochada At the verge of most electoral processes in Nigeria, the comic sway of some political actors are the major propelling force behind the wheels because unlike what is obtainable in developed climes, the cunning switch and short term venture of confusional politicians is a top most icon that diminishes the intent of the selfless political actors. In contemporary assessment, many adventurers verge into politics to pursue the goals of  selected cabal who in turn escalate to become sword drawn enemies after winning the polls. In the good old days, politics was a call to serve; the terrain was filled with political idealists of the highest calibre of integrity and charisma but today, the reverse is the case. The political circle in Nigeria is now dwindling to a become a port of religious bigots, feeding from a supposed communal pot converted to a domestic means of siphoning public funds. Politics is fast becoming a hunt to "chop" and not a flair to serve; politi
