Kogi State: The rumour of Usman Jibrin attack and Fire works begin

By Usman Okai Austin

In every rumour, there is an iota of truth as it is often said. It was reported widely in Kogi state that the ex while Naval chief was attacked by unknown people in connection to the forthcoming Kogi gubernatorial election, it got to the point that i have to put off my phones due to various calls with some don't even have respect for odd hours despite the facts that i am a married man, though some calls with apology with the spirit of inquisitiveness to ascertain the authenticity of the rumour in vogue, though I don’t hold brief for Usman Jibrin but my ever ready pen will not hesitate to communicate my own view regarding my state affairs as usual

There are things that are unthinkable that a hoodlum attack the former Service Chief,is an aberration but here we are Alex BADEH the former Chief of defence, four stars General was murdered by yet to be identify gunmen  God forbid but come to think of it, the rumor again demonstrated the facts that in Kogi state under this government, impossible is possible and that remind me the experience of the serving senators like Senator Dino Melaye and Ahmed Ogembe in the hands of Governor Yahaya Bello not sparing out the former Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Ibro a governor for nine years that was stopped from entering Kogi state in the last election, this goes to show that anything is possible in Kogi state hence the rumour instead of waving aside should be properl to investigate by the appropriate authority that be, at time government sponsor rumours to access the feedback before implementing some agenda.

While iam calling on the authority to investigate the source of such rumour which is too heavy for some of us to wave aside,i still believe with the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello still very much interested in the coming election, non is safe working isolatory, therefore is very important that all the  genuine aspirants should establish a very strong and reliable communication channels among themselves to tackle the pending danger as both aspirants not being sponsored by Governor Yahaya Bello himself and other opposing persona are in danger, myself have raised alarm on the plot to kill me by some agents of Kogi state government before the coming election in Kogi state, I, therefore deem it necessary that neither Admiral Usman Jibrin, Professor Seidu Mohammed Onailo, Muhammed Ibrahim Idris Ibro, Mohammed Audu,Hon Zakari Alfa, Barr.Babatunde Irukera, Senator Dino Melaye, Capt Idris Wada, Gen Patrick Akpa,Dr Omede Idris, Sani Lulu, Natasha Akpoti and others are not safe, judging from my own experience and previous occurrences in Kogi state,

Kogi state  is no doubt one of the worst state in Nigeria especially when development indices are concerned under Alhaji Yahaya Bello, Kogi state is at the lowest chart in areas of education and manpower development and has produced many men and women that have made Nigeria proud in different areas of endeavour.

Legends like Sunday Bolorunduro Awoniyi, CON, Dr. Stephen Makoji Achema, Dr A.T Ahmed, Dr Ahmodu Ali, Sr PS Achimugu, Arch. Gabriel Aduku, Dr Alex Kadir, Hajia Salamatu Baiwa,Prof Francis Idachaba, Prof, Gabriel Oyibo,Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim SAN and my own father Mr Francis Yahaya Usman one of the dedicated teachers, Our lady of Schools Anyigba can ever proud of among many others, all hailed from Kogi state. The state boasts of innumerable manpower in any field of endeavour one can imagine.

Even in the areas of commerce and industry, the people of kogi state  have so far distinguished themselves. In fact, the people are politically enlightened to the point that they should be able to  confront moneybags and reduce them to naught in any election where politics should be play accordingly, but not in the presence of guns, matchets and other weapons at the becks and call of the state sponsored bad boys on the prowls currently.

With this, Kogites can't be said, will determine their leader, especially in the coming election, unless Alhaji Yahaya Bello is deprive of access to his well funded machineries, the government of Alhaji Bello keep on assembling the bad boys, executes indoctrination and incite them against whoever is perceived an opponent, the bad boys enjoy the backing of the state security architecture, some of them are being bought expensive cars, some the government build house for them and some they marry wives for, while others are on weekly allowances and some free hotel accomodation and meals with men Special Anti-Robbery Squad, and some men of military uniform has been seeing  demonstrating bias mind in Kogi state,  going after those perceived to be strongly opposing the government in power in kogi state, while the insecurity has become the order of the day, with kidnappers roaming on the street freely while political opponents sleep with one eyes closed, with guns in bad boys hands, non is safe in kogi state, Anyigba now the center of all kinds of atrocities and palpable insecurity .

It is now the duty of AIG Zone 8, Kogi state commissioner of Police, state Director Department of State Security  Serviced to ensure the safety every kogites ahead of the November, it Babatunde Irukera that was previously threatened by the same force in Kogi state , Barrister Irukera a personal friend of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was not spare of the threat and now Rtd Army General, what is Kogi state turning into?

Kogi Guber: Dissecting Igala Unity; A Stitch In Time

By Ajogwu Jerry Ochada A popular African proverb comes to mind immediately I perused the list of ministerial nominees submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari: "a river that forgets its source is destined to dry". It beats my wild imagination how the once upon a time most favoured breeds across the Niger, fell within a twinkle of an eye to this present stage in the spheres of politics. No doubts, everything is possible on the political terrain but ane-Igala from the time of our ancestors never witnessed defeat or failure. We were classified as the most favoured political breeds in the Middle-belt region but the reverse is now the case. Recall that during the Second Republic, the present day Kogi State was under Benue State, yet we successfully produced the Deputy Governor in the person of Alhaji Sule Iyaji without much rancor with other ethnic groups in Benue. It was an easy scale of dominance perhaps because our leaders; traditional and political actors worked together

Secret Graveyard: Echoes of Defeated Terrorists

By Ajogwu Jerry Ochada As a student of diplomacy, one of the first lessons I learnt under the tutelage of my teachers is to decipher the aims of terrorism; the activites of terrorists. The major targets of these inimical elements all over the world is to instill fear in the minds of the populace. Another notable propaganda often utilized by terrorists is to hit a target where it could record high number of casualties (to make news headlines) by so doing the media would accord the orchestrated attack a wildfire styled reportage. It is pitiably unfortunate that on this part of the globe, terrorism is thriving in contemporary assessments as a result of the "5th columnists" who are ever ready to publish fallacious documents in solidarity with terrorist bound but are always at large whenever our armed forces record greater feat against the insurgents. As a result of these deficit, there is a breeding section of divergent public opinion promoted by misguided nationals and in
