The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai has applauded troops of Air Task Force Operation LAFIYA DOLE in the aftermath of a foiled attack on troops location by Boko Haram Terrorists.
A statement by the Spokesman of Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Sagir Musa said the repelled attack took place in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack was combatted alongside other troops deployed for Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO against Boko Haram terrorists.
A total number of seven gun trucks belonging to the terrorists was destroyed during the encounter while scores of the insurgents were 'neutralized'.
"The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai, hereby appreciates and commends the troops, especially the Air Task Force Operation LAFIYA DOLE for their heroic and patriotic actions which resulted in the successes recorded.
"He urged them to maintain the momentum and expedite actions to ensure speedy final defeat of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Nigeria," according to the statement.
