Nigerien Air Chief Concludes Tour of NAF Formations, Commends ATF Operations Against Terrorists

By Ajogwu Jerry   The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Nigerien Air Force, Colonel Amirou Abdulkader, has commended the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE (OPLD), for the successes recorded so far, in its renewed offensive operations against Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) elements in the North East of the Nigeria.  Nigerien Air Chief gave the commendation while addressing personnel of the ATF during his visit to Nigerian Air Force (NAF) operational Units in Maiduguri to enhance collaboration in the conduct of air operations in support of the ongoing Counter-Insurgency (COIN) operations in the Lake Chad Basin area.  According to a statement by Nigerian Air Force Spokesman, AVM Ibikunle Daramola, the visiting Air Chief also toured some NAF units in Kaduna state. COAS Lauds Air Task Force Operation Lafiya Dole For Crushing Terrorists In Borno

By Ajogwu Jerry The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai has applauded troops of Air Task Force Operation LAFIYA DOLE in the aftermath of a foiled attack on troops location by Boko Haram Terrorists. A statement by the Spokesman of Nigerian Army, Brig. Gen. Sagir Musa said the repelled attack took place in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. The attack was combatted alongside other troops deployed for Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO against Boko Haram terrorists.  A total number of seven gun trucks belonging to the terrorists was destroyed during the encounter while scores of the insurgents were  'neutralized'. Nigerian Troops Crush Boko Haram Terrorists, Destroy Gun Trucks, Recover Arms

By Ajogwu Jerry A statement by the Acting Director, Defence Media Operation,  Brig.-Gen. Bernard  Onyeuko, have disclosed how troops  of Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO alongside Air Task Force Operation LAFIYA DOLE  successfully destroyed seven Boko Haram / ISWAP terrorists' gun trucks and crushed numerous members of the sect. The terrorists met their waterloo when they attempted to attack troops location at the outskirts of Marte in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. According to the statement: "The gallant troops, based on reliable information about the attack, had positioned themselves in an ambush site where they tactically withdrew to, and awaited the arrival of the terrorists before they opened fire which led to fierce battle that resulted in the successes recorded as indicated above," it reads in part. As at the time of filing this report, troops are still engaged in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists.

Nigeria Civil Service Union Agitates Improved Workers Welfare

  By Ajogwu Jerry The Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) has called for improved workers welfare especially now that the country is been ravaged by COVID-19 virus. This was disclosed at an event organized by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) chapter of the union held in Kano State.  The Seminar with a theme "Staff Attitudinal Change As Basis For Revenue Generation" tasked staff of the organization to build positive attitudes to work in order to deliver the mandates of FIRS. In his address, the Unit Chairman, Mr Idris Abdulrahman hinted that the union is not resting on its oars with a bid to ensure improved workers welfare as practiced in other sister organizations. He applauded the performance of FIRS in year 2020 in terms of revenue generation while noting that staff of the service need to be encouraged to sustain the tempo.
