It was a beehive of activities, Thursday as Prince Yahaya Audu led other aspirants to canvas support for the reelection of President Buhari in his country home, Ogbonicha, Ofu local government area of Kogi state.
Prince Audu advised the people to come out in their numbers to vote in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari during the forthcoming election.
The party stakeholder enjoined the electorate to support the incumbent President due to his passion to curb the ugly menace of corruption. He highlighted the achievements of President Buhari in the past three years while stating that Nigeria's international repute has greatly improved during the shortest time in office.
"We owe it a duty to support President Buhari because he has greatly impacted on our land and our people. We cannot vote for candidates with questionable character and voting for such candidate is a waste.
"We have only one candidate in the forthcoming election and its President Muhammadu Buhari and there is no going back on this resolve.," he maintained.
Earlier in his remarks, the state secretary, All Progressive Congress (APC) Aspirants forum, Hon Umar Yahaya, applauded the party faithfuls for turning out enmasse for the solidarity event. He also thanked Prince Audu for displaying zeal to work for the party despite the shortcomings he encountered during the primaries.
Also speaking at the event, delegation from the nine local government areas in Kogi East saluted the extraordinary courage of Prince Audu who contested for the APC Senatorial ticket to represent the region.
Party chieftains present at the event unanimously agreed to work together for the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari during the forthcoming Presidential election scheduled for Saturday.
High point of the event was the distribution of bags of rice across the various local government areas comprising Kogi East.
