Politics in Kogi State is fast becoming a business enterprise for the classified semi baked politicians, to experiment and toil with the fortunes and collective destinies of a cross section of politically interested Nigerians who are  divided by parochial interest, disguised and veiled under numerous nonsensical agenda that is existing in isolation of reality. Recently, we witnessed the shaming engagement of some hired politicians who showed their ugly head behind the scene as shenanigans sponsored by the political neophyte who is presently gallivanting in the corridors of Lugard House to destabilize the process. Unfortunately for these league of hired comedians disguising as politicians, their rules of enga...

A SHOW OF INFAMY IN KOGI POLITICS: A CASE STUDY OF IGALA KINGDOM

By Alex Idoko Alih The political elites and the electorates at grassroots cum the youths of this generation, an anathema that must be guarded zealously for the survival of the current dispensation. History has always been favourably disposed to the founding Fathers of the modern day Nigeria; though a contraption conceived by the Queen and realized through the deceit of the manovoure of Sir, Lord Lugard of blessed memory. The Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorates as it were was not in the best interest of Nigerians for they were not consulted, hence the coming together of bed of strange fellows in the name and guise of indivisible entity called Nigeria. However, the tele-guided historical administrative pseudo independence at the whims and caprices of the Britons was not associated with blood letting. The ingenuity of the freedom fighters who know the true meaning of oppression, regression, marginalization and civilized slavery has been taken for g...

KOGI STATE POLITICS OF INHERITANCE – By Alex Idoko Alih

The game of party politics through a non rule adventure, unlike footballing, badminton and others has some moral embellishment that ought to be respected. It is not oligarchic or an inheritance for the former occupants especially the case of Lugard House in the case of Kogi State. Prince Abubakar Audu ventured into politics on the creation of Kogi State, graciously God's benevolence was disposed to his ambitious sojourn, he won another opportunity came onboard, he recontested and won the second time as a result of Dr. Stev Makoji Achema's politics of sportsmanship based on Ukanukpoda accord at dawn. The first term though truncated by the despotic exponents under the grip of the then maximum ruler and dictator, General Sani Abacha, heralded his second coming based on litany or achievements. During the 2002 Governorship election that exited Prince Abubakar Audu but ushered in Alh. Ibrahim IDRIS, the layer was the least expected considering his experimental background and ...

Secret Graveyard: Echoes of Defeated Terrorists

By Ajogwu Jerry Ochada As a student of diplomacy, one of the first lessons I learnt under the tutelage of my teachers is to decipher the aims of terrorism; the activites of terrorists. The major targets of these inimical elements all over the world is to instill fear in the minds of the populace. Another notable propaganda often utilized by terrorists is to hit a target where it could record high number of casualties (to make news headlines) by so doing the media would accord the orchestrated attack a wildfire styled reportage. It is pitiably unfortunate that on this part of the globe, terrorism is thriving in contemporary assessments as a result of the "5th columnists" who are ever ready to publish fallacious documents in solidarity with terrorist bound but are always at large whenever our armed forces record greater feat against the insurgents. As a result of these deficit, there is a breeding section of divergent public opinion promoted by misguided nationals and in...
